Kithy- Interestingly enough, Smith was indeed a Mason. He passed through the ranks to Grand Master within just 3 days. He had some Mason friends previous to this that gave him information, but it wasn't until after he was a mason that he created the Temple rituals.

It wasn't until "after he was a mason that he developed temple rituals" Are you kidding me? And how do you know that??? Your questions are getting more and more rediculous seriously.
The temple "rituals" we call them the inititory, endowment and marriage covenants...have been around since the time of Adam and Eve. Did you ever think maybe the Mason's got it from the Mormons???

I encourage you to do some serious research and not from anti-mormon websites. Unfortunately for you finding truth requires getting it from the souce...

You're rich, meat.

I didn't swear any oaths, especially about any death penalties. And, yes, I did take out my endowments BEFORE 1990.

Oh, and he never made GRAND MASTER. He got to the third degree, Master Mason. No one gets to be a GRAND MASTER without years in the masons. You obviously have no idea what the difference is between a Master Mason, and a Grand Master.

They got a lot of their rituals from Freemasonry. There are alot of people who would say Joseph Smith was a Freemason, but he wasn't. It was his friend who was one and he gave Smith the info... some of it wasn't complete, so Smith merely filled in those things which were lacking.
