Psychiatry is a fake science they know that they can't answer the hunger strike questions, why do you think that they tell others not to talk to me about it, the more they say the righter I show to be and the wronger they are.
Psychiatry. Voting on Diseases, that is all it is is a political body of name calling, back in the 60s many people were diagnosed as retarded and may not even know it because the President had a new commission and the money needed to be able to flow

Do you think that any of them are ever going to listen or, do they believe that some diseases are more righter then others, and most of them will admit that they do not have a "disease" of the brain that is why they have started to call it a disorder, but medical disorder all the same when it is not, and do they believe that textbook science gets them the starring roles? Why when there is so much malpractice that the legislators try to have to protect the doctors from it? Isn't that about money and greed, and not really need or right or wrong? Will our children be able to grow up safe and out of this kind of harms way? Yes if a child or adult needs any kind of actual assistance they need it and should have it which is most usually not the case, but it must not be imposed on them. Not imposed in order to find the minutest traces of differences in people so that they can be labeled and treated. That is what I call crazy.

Probably because it was considered a childhood thing. Even most pediatricians at major children's hospitals didn't know about it in the early 80s (my brother was not diagnosed until he was an adult with Asperger's although he has the classic signs.).
Honestly, I would prefer doctors to learn how to treat DISEASE and let Pediatricians focus on those issues that first appear in childhood. You have no idea how much doctors have to learn and memorize. If you think your child has something wrong and your doc isn't diagnosing it, then a children's hospital is your best place to go.
Finally, there is the constant changing nature of this problem. Researchers have discovered that autism actually begins prenataly (sp?). That's very sad since it will be much harder to pin this thing down: is it environmental or is it viral?

it is... it's not focused on but even when i went to school as a medical assistant we had to learn symptoms, potential causes, treatments etc for all of these things. There is just so many that you can't focus for as long as you would need to or med. school would go on FOREVER. They teach it with all other disease - mental, physical etc etc.

Ya know, the big HBO special, etc. The media is just now getting the word out that it has grown to epidemic proportions.
