And you are probably a little tired also.
Donuts are all simple carbohydrates, from the fiberless dough to the sugar. It gets absorbed into the body quickly and leaves the bloodstream quickly.
Complex carbohydrates, such as fruit, take their time getting into your body systems.
When I used to eat oatmeal for breakfast, I would notice that I was starving by 10am. If I ate nothing for breakfast, I was good until lunch time.

The sugar high will make you feel full, but the airy-ness of donut is not enough starch, fiber or any nutrition to keep you full.

Donuts are just empty calories, they just don't make a good meal. Like eating a candy bar, it will satify you for a little while, thats all.

Because it's very high in sugar. You eat the sugar, your blood sugar goes up and then it crashes.
When your blood sugar bottoms-out (crashes) your brain thinks your hungry again, even though your tummy is not empty.

Nothing but sugar and flour. Simple carbos give a rush and but have no staying power. You need protein for that.

They dont contain fibre, protein, etc etc...
also your body has burned them up (your metabolism must have been working over time!!!) and then it has carried on burning up calories...it will stop after 3 hours in men (lucky! women only get one hour to burn cals, then they have to eat/exercise again!)

its possible that you weren't craving donuts that you only ate them to suffice another craving. so now your brain still wants what ever else your body was craving.
