Wedding invitations.Anyone know how to make your own? I dont know where to even start.?

Im having a butterfly theme wedding.A lady had answered another question I had up here and actually had offered to make the invitaions for me!! But I lost her e-mail..Anyone have knowledge on how to do this?

I've made and seen some gorgeous invitations that others have made! However I currently don't have the programs I need to make them. I created my own graphics for them as well. If you have a family member or friend who is "computer savy" and graphically talented or creative, hit them up with the project! The basics that you will need is some good quality stationary or card stock, plenty of printer ink, and ribbon! I'd go with just a one sided card...4x6...have a pretty butterfly or graphic of your choice on the left side...and your information printed to the right of that. using a two-hole punch, punch holes in the top center of the invitation and thread pretty wired ribbon in your wedding colors thru it and tie in a pretty bow! The wire will allow it to lay flat in the envelopes! Be sure to allow the ink to COMPLETELY dry before touching...like a day or so...and get plenty of help!! Especially if you have a large wedding, but this will be a great job for your bridesmaids!

Its simple. What do you want them to say, I'll type them out for you then you can just print them on some nice paper or blank invitations.

Then you can even add the little cards they give when you register (if you're registering anywhere). If you're having padrinos, then you add the list of the padrinos too.

I made my own invites using a picture and vellum overlay. For a butterfly theme, you could find paper you like and then use it for the back paper and then print the wording on vellum and tie it together using ribbon and maybe even a butterfly charm dangling from it. The paper could even be just plain colored card stock of your wedding colors and use a stamp or sticker of a butterfly to add design on the paper if not using butterfly paper. Or you could even find a stencil of a butterfly and cut the paper in that shape too. Good luck!

When I got married, I purchased a paper kit from either AC Moore or Michaels (craft type stores) they came with beautiful paper, and tips on wording. It told me how to set everything up in my computer and ended up looking like we had them professionally done! Any computer store (staples or office max) would also sell the paper. Its a great way to save some money but personalize your day a little more. Im sure you can find a beautiful butterfly paper.

I'm getting married on May 5. I made my own invitations from scratch. I've seen a lot of the invitation kits on clearence at target. They were 50 invites with envelopes and all the other stuff for $14. That's prob the easiest thing to do.

I made my own invites. Michaels and AC Moore craft stores have a huge selection of invites with response cards and reception cards in the package ($30 for 50). All I did was get my wording together and printed them out at home and assembled them with the velum and bows. Looked extremely professional and no one even realized that I did them.

If you don't have a lot of creativity, purchase an invitation-making kit (cheap, simple ones from Target, or more elaborate ones from a stationery store) that you can print on your own computer. If you buy a kit they will come with instructions on how to create it and print them out correctly. If you need wordings you can just look online.

well u can start by buying the actual cards urself at staples... they have plenty if them there... but they might be cheaper at walmart. i thought about doin the same thing... but i realize that i am better off paying maybe $100-150 more and gettin them doin professionally.. if ur interested rexcraft.com.... good luck!

the best program to use is photoshop if you know how to use it. you can download a free trial of photoshop elements here: http://www.soft32.com/download_346.html

check out adobe.com for tutorials.

to make you invites first look through invitation samples online and in paper stores etc. look for ideas that you like. you can also look up butterfly images and/or graphics.
sketch out how you want the invite to look and fold it up how it's supposed to and make come to life on the computer.
once you have the design all laid out send it to a printer or go to your local kinkos (print/copy shop)

you can also get kits from craft or paper stores were they have the paper and everything for you and you just assemble them.
you could also get some lovely paper and print just the text on the paper with your home computer (if you have one of pretty good qulaity) then add some little butterfly shapes or figures on the front of the invite.
