I have had very short for many years, it is naturally curly and thick. I have been trying to grow it, I colour it a lot and use straightners every day. In the last few days I have had it dyed brown with red through it, I didn't like it so I put high lights through. It is now a pinkish blonde brown mess of dry frizzy coarsness!!! Apart from doing a Britney, any ideas?

I would say, go to the professionals. They will help you out. Plus, they may refer you to different brands of hair colour or even straightners that do not do damage to your hair. Because as all ladies know, hair is the greatest asset of all! *laughs* You could even ask them to give you a new hair cut. Something fresh. Something like a make over. Have some fun with it also.

I hope I helped at least a little bit.

I know you shouldnt but i would colour it again,in a natural medium brown,n then get some hot oils and give your hair a couple of treatments and then a deep repairing conditioner and the a good straightning serum. Its cheaper than the hair dressers and you can do it again, and again.

For an easy, conditioning hair mask, you can use olive oil on damp hair. Put on a shower cap and wait for half an hour, then rinse. This should restore some shine and softness. :-) If you want to color it again i suggest henna. It conditions and colors! You can get blocks of henna based coloring stuff in lush... I think its called caucau or something like that.

first of all - get rid of the colour & the straightener asap!!!!
then start this treatment - 2 n half spoons almond oil & one egg(yellow part). , apply it to ur hair for about 45 mins then wash off with a shampoo suitable for ur hair type then finally use a conditioner (use conditioner only twice a week)
do this treatment for a month n u'll see the difference, i bet u'll thank me!

If I were you I would go to your professional hairstylist and dye your hair a dark brown or even black for that matter. If you don't want to go dark I would just ask your stylist's for there opinion.
