What can I do? Today I hung out with these two girls that I like as friends, but the whole time I was really shy, and not very outgoing which was boring for me because I wanted to show them a good time, but I'm just really shy when it comes to talking to girls. Btw I'm a freshman in college, and they are in high school. I just don't know what to say, because I feel as though if I do say something or make a joke that It won't be funny and I will look like an idiot. I really want to open up and be more outgoing towards them, but I don't know how. They always talk about thier guy friends and the funny stuff they do, and how they miss hanging out with them, which makes me feel boring compared to thier friends. So what can I do? another thing that is holding me back from talking is the fact that I have braces so it kind of makes me feel ugly even though I'm decent looking. When there are awkward silences where nobody in the car says anything I feel as though I should say something.

When they talk get involved on the conversation ask questions. Build your confidence up by not overthinking evry little thing. Relax and all will be well.

ok first of all just because you have braces doesnt mean you are ugly , girls dont only want funny guys they also like guys that are sensitive and shy. trust me one of the bf's i have had was not outgoing at all until he got 2 know me... so you need to take the time to get to know some1 because im very shy too and you just have to remember sometimes shy is good.. you need to quit putting yourself down you need to except that you are a great person and if you crack a joke that isnt funny dont worry just sit back and chill you may feel uncomfertable about it but its ok just be yourself and you wont be that shy anymore...your shy because your afraid of what some1 might think of you so dont worry about it just be yourself! don't feel bad dude everyone goes through the same thing at one time or another , you just have to put yourself out there and it is just like learning to box, skate or walk ( when you were a baby) it takes practice and you may fall some times and look like a dork, everyone does but don't be afraid to try and you will get better, promise. listen high school girls think college guys are cool no matter what they do. so just crack a joke and things will be fine if they are hanging out with you they already like you as a friend so why be so shy

you can either look up jokes, or my personal recomendation is to be yourself. i dropped out of high school and went to independent study, i found myself, because i was really shy. i came to realize that who gives a **** about what people think. they are just people, no better than you, nobody is better than nobody. i still take care of myself, but the girls are just people. do the things you love and you'll meet poeple with similat interests, and it creates confidence and that is a major turn on to girls.

ok...well for one your braces are nothing to be ashamed about...i think guys that have braces are cute!!...lol..well just say what you are thinking at the time and if they dont think its funny (whitch im sure that they will)..just laugh and go on and dont even think about it like that!!..and just like that person said high school girls that hang out with college guys are gonna think you are funny !!!..lol..i would..
