Yes, but the moral of the story is that suicide is ok, as long as you kill a bunch of other people at the same time.

Being employed by radical fundies in the Middle East every day.

Suicide is when you take your life for no purpose however dieing for a good reason is not. Contrast throwing yourself in front of a train with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save his squad - same result the guy dies by his action but 2 different results.

If Sampson existed, he would have been doing what he did to redeem himself and punish evil doers.

Samson was raised up by God to destroy the Philistines. He loved Philistine women, especially Delilah and didn't do much after hooking up with Deliah. Her job was to find out the secret of his strength, which God told him never to reveal. He eventually did and paid with humiliation and his sight.

Judges 16:26-30 - Samson asked the lad that held him by the hand to lead him to the supporting pillars so he could lean on them. The house was full of men and women, all the lords of the Philistines were there, and upon the roof were three thousand men and women, all making fun of him.

16:28 " And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein, So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life".

One lesson here is that when we cut the fool where our responsibilities llay, sometimes we may have to forfeit our lives in order to accomplish what God has given us to do. Notice God heard his prayer and supplied strength (although by this time he may have had a small amount of hair).

No, he did not. He could not get out of the situation he was in, so he was sacrificing himself for God's purpose.
