Check out Martha Stewart and Real Simple websites - they will have the latest and greatest in egg decorating. Blowing out the egg is easy with the longest biggest darning or upholstery needle you can find. Gently push the needle through the egg from one end to the other. This will put two holes in the egg. Take the eye part of the needle and insert it into one of the holes and gently enlarge one hole. While you are enlarging the hole, you should be able to break up the yolk inside the egg. This will make blowing it out easier. Blow through the smaller hole and the egg should come out of the bigger hole.

I recommend buying pasteurized eggs so that you don't have to worry about salmonella on the shell.

We did the pin in the top and bottom breaking the sack and all. It does take a lot of time. Not to mention the more time it takes if an egg should happen to break while you're doing it. You need to be sooooooo careful !!! You don't want the t shell to break. It does take a lot out of you. You really have to rest when you're done, that's for sure. Have fun.
Happy Easter

ugh been there done that. it is NOWHERE near as fun as it looks you poke a hole in the top you poke a hole in the bottom. poke around in the egg to break the sack and get to blowing it hurts and is very time consuming we did it to decorate an easter tree and it was a PAIN IN THE A**

There are a number of ways for emptying out eggs discussed on this page of my site:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/eggs.htm
(... the very first parts of the page....)

(we often cover the blown eggshells with decorative polymer clay, so there's info on decorating them that way too if you're interested on that page)
