what that scripture is saying is that if wicked people give their kids gifts, God will definitely give them to his children (ie us)

Think of the love you have for your children(if you were a parent), and how you would give them anything, God has the same love and generosity for us , if we ask him, and he wants us to have that same love, and generosity towards others.

It is showing that you wouldn't give bad things as gifts. But, neither would you give a good thing with bad motives. Also, The scripture isn't talking about gift giving, it is referring to prayers.

I belive the gifts that are given to your children are the same as blessings, for example, you can bless your children with knowledge, or you can bless your children with your love and so on. The reading of the word to your children and the explanation of what you have read to them can definately be considered a gifft or blessing. Help any?
