I respect atheist in general, because I dont think that everybody should believe what I believe, but I've noticed that there are a lot of altheist here asking questions quite offensive towards religion. I dont like baseball at all (in fact, I hate it), so, wouldnt it be crazy if I go to the sport section in YA and ask "why do people like baseball, it is so incredibly stupid?". I mean, since I dont like sports, I dont go to that section to bother people who like it, then why do SOME altheist care soooo much about us christians asking questions about God here? If you dont want to believe in God, and you want to ask or answer something respectfully, it is ok, but if you just want to annoy those who think diferent.... dont u think u a shrink?

it is not about religion people not wanting other opinions, its just that I have noticed that many atheist (not all) are offensive with their aswers. If I asks "do u think hat God created earth?" and I get a lot of "no" and give me their cientific point of view, I respect that and I might even rate it as the best answer, but if someone is going to isult me for asking, that's diferent

Intolerant atheists (and that's only some of them) are here for the same reasons intolerant religious fundamentalists post here. One of those reasons is, to save others from moral danger. Intolerant atheists believe their way is so much the best way that it's the only way. Intolerant believers who post here feel the same way.
The rest of us honestly believe that an individual's personal choices are ok; that each person already has what they need by reason or by Divine interest to find their own best path. Many of us believe that MANY or even all paths are best; that just as each individual life is worth respect so is each path.

Baseball players aren't out trying to pass laws according to the game (Imagine having to signal to the crosswalk guard that you are going to walk slowly across the street). Baseball doesn't make claims it's the Only Truth.
Religion affects everyone's life... especially since the majority here is of one religion and constantly trying to pass laws that hinder other religions or people. Would you be interested in Paganism if it were the majority in America and all of us Pagans were trying to pass laws according to our Religion and then in turn tell you that your religion (or lack of religion) won't be recognized? Wouldn't you want to understand the people and the religion that is trying to run you down so you can fight against it? Or will you sit back and allow it to just run you over?

You're failing to notice, apparently, that many (most?) of the Christians here come to say "Why are people atheists? That is so incredibly stupid".
Respect is a two-way street, and the Christians don't seem to understand that. You can believe whatever you want, of course, but if you're just here to bash others, you're the problem.
Frankly, if it weren't for the atheists here, this place would have practically no adult behavior.

No offence, but why do so many religion nuts make so many stupid statements about Atheists but expect very polite answers ?
I don't like baseball either, but I also don't like being put down because I don't follow some foolish religious garbage.
dont u think u a shrink ?

some Atheist and Agnostics merely prefer to offer an option perspectives, some was once Christian so have a solid view on it than different religions, there are people who look out casted via society for selecting that course sense might desire to voice why it not so undesirable or greater effective (relying on the guy) than faith itself, plus in spite of the particular shown fact that it not a faith it remains a concept type shared via many who isn't non secular and not quiet religious.

I think you'll find that the majority of atheists (and agnostics; I have to represent) are posing intelligent, informed, curious questions, and are not saying 'lolz xianity is so stupid' over and over again. When that sort of stuff comes, it's more a mark of exasperation with Christians who do the exact same thing ('lolz any other religion is stupid') than anything else.
This is not the Christianity section of Y!A. You're free to ask questions about your beliefs, but others are free to ask questions about their beliefs as well.

baseball players don't try to make me play baseball, or try to rule the country, so your analogy is completely moot.
some christians act in the same way toward atheists as you describe atheists acting toward christians. but not everyone of each group does that. i do agree that taunting and name calling is uncalled for, esp toward an entire group, but both sides have people that do it.
AND, atheists have beliefs, too; not all beleifs are about your god. i am very spiritual, but follow no religion, and believe in no god/desses.

Atheists are individuals who are inspired by satan to believe a lie rather than the truth. Their goal is to enforce their belief on christians who believe in a God who created this world, who sent Jesus the son of God to this world to save sinners. (this is too long to get into). But nevertheless, atheists are here to turn the truth into a lie. Everyone have a choice! There is a creater whether you want to believe it or not.

Asking questions usually generates thought. That is what most of us are doing here. 1. Learning about your beliefs, 2. Trying to highlight our own.

Thank you so very much for your permission to express myself to an open forum. By the way, I do see a psychiatrist. Do you have a problem with that too?
