You need your filing status, your expected refund and social security number.

you can get the status of your federal refund at the irs website. www.irs.gov. just click on ''where is my refund:'' by the left side of the page and you will be asked for your details, and you should have the update regarding the status of your refund.

You don't say which state, but maybe your state had money to repay you,, and the Feds are having to borrow enough somewhere to re-pay you.

Mine is exactly the opposite. I got my Fed last month, but still no state return.

It should only take about 2weeks. If you efiled u can check the status online or call the IRS they can give look up your information with your SSN.
