It doesn't matter what society thinks- most of society thinks drunken orgies in a hot-tub is something teens should watch on MTV.
You're not exposing yourself to diseases (some of which you can die from), STD's, unwanted pregnancy, being used.... sounds smart to me. It helps the marriage because marriage is about sacrifice and self-control.

I once had set that as something I was doing. And then I met this guy and everything changed. I say that those who can save themselves for marriage are awesome. Everyone should do it, unfortunately, there are some of us who fall off the ladder and others who are just too horny for such a thing. Sadly, I fall into both categories I just mentioned. And actually, you would be surprised as to how common virginity until marriage really is.

I'm going to be honest. First of all, everyone's different. If that's what you feel is right for you, don't let anybody tell you different. That being said, the one problem that I see, is that you won't know if you are sexually compatible with your partner until the wedding night. If both partners are virgins, then I think you completely right (you will have shared something really special).

Do what works for you. Personally I'm the sort of person who wants to know all the facts before making a decision, meaning that your idea wouldn't be for me, but there are pros and cons to both sides. Just make sure that when you do get married it's not just because you want to have sex with the guy.

Good for you!! I didn't exactly save myself until marriage, but the man who is my husband now is the only man I've ever been with. Sorry if I offend anyone out there, but if all women respected their bodies, and had a little restraint, we might be shown respect by the men of the world.

If you are doing this and feel confident in your decision who cares what people think? They dont have to walk in your shoes or live your life, so it doesnt matter.
I honestly in my beliefs dont really think it has an effect on a marriage (i.e. divorce rates are lower in couples that save themselves) <-I dont think that is the case, because personally you live life once, I am glad that I got to experiene different pleasures with different people. And, it makes me appreciate my boyfriend now, because I can respect our connection more.
But do what works best for you...Thats all that matters

Personally, I think it's idiotic on behalf of the virgin. I have my reasons, too.
1) If you turn sex into something so holy and emotional, a breakup will break you.
2) A lack of experience pretty much equals bad sex. Trust me on this one.
3) A lack of sex has ruined several relationships mainly because its a lack of a form of emotional communication.
4) People have to know what they're getting into before they marry. This includes ALL aspects of life, including sex.

I did, I was 18 when I got married the first time. Was if worth it? Yes, because it made my first time special. Looking back, just cause he's my ex now, I wouldn't have changed things for all the world. The experience was awesome.
