and is not effected by food in-take, but when touched, certain points are very tender/sore. What could it be? Please, no "go to the doctor" responses. I am trying to get an inkling of information first as I want to be informed of possibilites.

When abdominal pain is chronic and unremitting, with minimal or no relationship to eating or bowel function but often a relationship to posture (i.e., lying, sitting, standing), the abdominal wall should be suspected as the source of pain. Frequently, a localized, tender trigger point can be identified, although the pain may radiate over a diffuse area of the abdomen. If tenderness is unchanged or increased when abdominal muscles are tensed (positive Carnett's sign), the abdominal wall is the likely origin of pain. Most commonly, abdominal wall pain is related to cutaneous nerve root irritation or myofascial irritation. The pain can also result from structural conditions, such as localized endometriosis or rectus sheath hematoma, or from incisional or other abdominal wall hernias. I hope this information helped you some. Good luck and I hope you have a Divine Day.

I've been having similar symptoms for about 3 weeks now, and have seen three different doctors. I've been told there is nothing unusual with me and it is likely a bruise or damaged muscle. (Mine is under my right ribs, which the doctor said because the area has very high movement due to the lungs and other organs it will take a while to heal)

There are several other things it could be, and these include gall bladder, which they do an ultrasound to check (i'm going to schedule one for myself), and it could also be related to antibiotics if you have taken them recently.

I know you don't want to hear "go to the doctor", but if it continues it would be a good idea.

Well it could be so many differant things. What other symtoms are you having. If it is just sensativity to touch I would presume just pulled muscle. Did you lift something heavy, did you just recently get over a cold and have coughing involved. Did you get over the flue and vomited. Have you taken up new exercised? These could be some causes. Other things that could be intestinal blockage, do you have bloating, gassy stomach, consitpation? You haven't really given enough details to determine what your issue is. Please provide more symtoms.
