I use Sandisk Ultra II SD cards on my Canon PS S3 IS, and they work great, for both continuous shooting and the video clip feature. If you think you want an even faster card, then go for the Extreme III card by Sandisk. I haven't seen a need to yet though. (I use 2gb cards, that has also been plenty of space, I use the large and superfine quality settings, and have taken 420 photo's plus 3 minutes of video clips on one card, with space to spare. Since I have three cards, I haven't run out of space yet, with daily afternoon/evening shoots. (I have just had the camera a month).

According to the Advanced Manual, the S3-IS will support super high speed SD memory cards.

B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping) has the 1 GB Sandisk Extreme III card for $28.95, after a rebate that is good until 3/31/07.

They also have a 2 GB Sandisk Extreme III card for $42.95 after that same $10 rebate, which expires on 3/31/07.

Lexar's 1 GB 133X card (which is the same speed as the Extreme III) is $29.95 and their 2 GB card at the same 133X speed is $48.95 and - if I am reading this correctly - there is a $10 rebate on the 2 GB card from 3/18-to-4/30/07. The 2 GB Lexar for a final price of $38.95 is an exceptional value in a top quality card.

If you are going to use a lot of continuous shooting, I'd suggest the 2 GB card.

See this page at Sandisk, which says that the maximum capacity for the S3-IS is 2 GB. http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8167)-Canon-PowerShot_S3_IS.aspx

with regards to the canon s3is the cards that it will handle is up to 150x or 22.5 mb/sec. 150=1x speed. probably lexar or san disk extreme would be a good idea.
