Actually for me, when I became a pothead, I also became extremely depressed. The thing is, the only time I felt "normal" was if I was smoking up. Eventually it became an addiction real problems werent quite real, everything was in a haze for years. When I quit I was able to focus on life for real and now Im happily married with a new baby and totally loving life. I smoked about a year ago and got the worst reaction EVER to it, I felt like everyone hated me, and my old depression feelings... along with some of the good feelings came back. Personally it's not worth it if you're ANYTHING like I was. Good luck and take care!

Weed and social interaction does not mix well at all. It will only isolate you from the people that truly care about you and put you in a deep hole where it will take forever to climb out of. It is a huge personality changer and it not only damages your health mentally and physically, but it also has horrible, horrible effects later on in life. It is finally being told now that marijuana causes strong cases of schizophrenia later on in life among many other disorders from use of the drug. Your best bet is to just quit and save your relationship from going down the drain because you want to get high for a couple hours.

I would like to thank the person who asked the question, and also everyone who answered. i've been dealing with someone in my life who has been smoking weed the past few months and thinking really really weird thoughts, almost like he was a totally different person. I have been trying to figure this person out, and this has really helped me a lot to understand what has been happening. Thanks to everyone for sharing. PS, if anyone can answer this, is marijuana use addicting??

You have answered your own question. You were never like this before, you're smoking a lot more weed--of course a lot more drug abuse has negative effects. You sound smart enough to answer your own question about the next step, too. Get help, if necessary, and quit.

Weed is a depressant and it used to make me so paranoid. Stop doing it so much and call your girlfriend to go out when he wants to hang with the guys. You are still young, but you will learn to appreciate any time you have away from your man and with the gals, and you wont feel so left out and depressed!!

my mother's ex boyfriend was a chronic smoker. He became so emotionally dependent on it that he was very jealous and moody. It got so bad that he eventually became violent. Now I'm not saying you will get this bad but weed definately takes its toll on you physically and mentally. Because of this experience I won't date a guy if he smokes it. Just take care of yourself, don't smoke it, or at least not as much.

Good luck

If you already have a chemical imbalance it can.
I had a friend who was clinically depresed do to a chemical imbalance, and he stopped smoking and it got better.

if you quit, what have you got to loose. you can try it at least, and if it's not the weed making you more depressed, then see a coucilor.

But me and my boyfriend went throught hte same thing,
I wanted him to want me, and couldn't stand when he didn't,

It might be more of your confidance than the weed, take into consideration,
living situations( are you living together, or is it long distance)
age.( are you in high school or graduated)

there are a lot of factors that could lead to this.

My boyfriend lived 40 miles away, and had some chick haning on his nutz, could there be something like this going on?

You need to put the stuff down, period. If it's damaging your personal relationships now, what can it be doing to your school, work, morale, and overall your life choices.

There's not much of a benefit doing it if you really think about it, and you won't have to worry about breaking any laws if you no longer have any. Your choice, but I think if you give it a try, you'll see that it will improve many things in your life.

Weed can cause lots of those problems and it also tends to kill off the brain cells so your brain is not functioning like it used to before you smoked pot. Your best bet is to stop doing drugs and pot and get your life back (what's left of it).

yes smoking weed can do this to you!
DONT DO IT AS MUCH AT ALL.
this may mean that you could be having a psychotic episode,
or
getting symptoms of skizophrenia.
not to scare you lovvie.
but its not a good idea to continue unless you dont mind about the problems your relationship and You will face if you get worse!!!
and you wont get better continuing to smoke weed!
