that is a really rude question. they have just as much right to be here as anyone else...

you add the 'no offense' but in reality, you meant to be offensive. Maybe they are trying to figure out the 'why' we actually DO have faith and a Spiritual walk? ever think maybe God is calling them to be here, read and reread things? Maybe God is knocking on the door of their hearts wanting to be part of their lives? who gave you the right to make that decision for anyone?

Oh fear no longer, if its a factor of scripture being debated among Christians I will depart by myself. I may not butt in with a "God is not truly!" on account that it is each impolite and non-optimistic to try this. As for why I'm right here. There's any quantity of explanations. One of that is that spirituality (one part of the segment's identify) belongs similarly to all people, and that encompasses the human situation additionally. We will have to debate extra than simply the metaphysical global of gods but additionally what it approach to be human and sentient. I was a Christian and I am nonetheless interested within the cultural production of Christianity and organised faith customarily. Some of it's admittedly morbid interest, certainly while implemented to the extra fundamentalist points. However I am mainly pleasantly amazed via certainly well arguments and viewpoints from training Christians that may make so much of the silliness right here precious. I'm additionally an avid fan of Christian medieval structure and I am a steady guest to the excellent cathedrals and church buildings right here within the UK. I do not have got to be devout to respect the impressive nature in their production and the artistry and ardour that went into them. When any person asks any query right here, they have to be a minimum of be ready to listen to from viewpoints that are a long way from their possess, or else why put up right here? An atheist reaction to a devout query don't need to be insulting (and should not be if the query is well) however that doesn't imply it will have to no longer be provocative. I wish individuals of all ideals to consider for themselves, no longer simply comply with the orders of alternative individuals or any books.

Do you realize how many times this question has been asked?
First, the term 'atheist' means without a belief in God or any gods/goddesses. Anyone who is unsure is Agnostic and then there are a ton of different religions/philosophies other than the Christianity we're aware of.
Second, many of the non-religious sort became that way b/c they read/studied the Bible.
As a 'non-believer' I know much more about the Bible now than I did when I was a Christian. Some of these questions are very informative. It's very discouraging to see how many don't actually read these...

Their belief or disbelief cannot be expressed anywhere else except the R&S section. If you are a believer, you should appreciate their presence so that you are given a chance to know if you should or should not stay where you are. Atheists are not forcing you, just look at it as if you are looking at other side of a coin. Listening and learning from both sides may even make you wiser in your choices in life. for all you know they too are interested to somehow.

Because an atheist can be a Christians best friend in the knowledge that they offer. They scan then bible waiting for an opportunity to get you to prove to them the existence of god. The day they look too closely will be the day they find Him

Since you are only the 256th person who asks this today, I can understand how you must have missed the other similar questions.

I'm an Atheist, and I am here for many reasons.

1) I have a Christian girlfriend and I want to learn more about her religion.

2) I have lived all my life in Holland, an Atheist country. In Holland all sorts of things are allowed like gay marriage, abortion, euthasia. I see these things as basic human rights. At the same time I see that all these things are far from basic human rights in many other countries, under the pressure of the religious voice.

3) It is a proven fact that Atheist countries like Sweden, Norway, Holland, etc, etc have more human societies than a religious country like the USA. The Atheist countries have lower murder rates, up to 300% lower STD rates just to name a few.

4) Inspite of the fact that again yesterday 40,000 kids died of starvation and aids, people still claim that God heals diseases. They post video's online with all sorts of 'miracle healings' and claim that as proof of the existence of God. There will be people watching that nonsense and stop their medication. There will be people watching it, stopping their medication and therefore they will die. They will die because they saw this video and based on it they will make a wrong decision. The claim "God heals", kills people. It's as simple as that.

To put it short: It's needed to educate the religious people how bad religion is for this planet. I want a better planet for my future children. That's why I'm here.

I just did a quick search on Answers, and found that 717 questions in the past week mention atheists. (And that's just using the correct spelling of the word. I have no idea how many there would be if I included the typical misspellings). People are asking us questions, so I'm here to answer.

Because arrogance such as yours, thinly veiled with a fake "peace" and "no offense" disclaimer, is great fodder for my Buddhist practice of trying to learn how to be more compassionate and patient with people like you.

Everybody has the right to be in this section. Everybody has something to say when it comes to the subject of religion and spirituality. It's the same as when Christians go over to the science board and spread their gospels. It's the same as when they go to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered section. Peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they are not so narrow minded as to not be interested in what people who have different beliefs have to say. I mean I'm just guessing here, not being an atheist myself, but it would be a good reason.
