You know, like how do they figure out how much you will have to pay ? Is there a way to estimate the price of a tat?

i'm going to be getting a flowering tree on my back...no color, just black...actually, i might put in a splash of bright pink on each of the flowers... and it's going to be 5-6 inches tall... how much do you think? $300-$350?

Most have a $50 minimum.

Depending on the location, the amount of detail, color, amount of time, size, and how nice you treat them they factor it up from there.

Good luck! Your tat sounds like it will be beautiful.

As a general reference industry standard is about $125 an hour. Some artists are more (depending on skill and demand) some are less. Usually if you go and talk to the artist that you want to work on you they can you give you a ballbark figure based on their standard rate.
Finally i hope price is not a deciding factor in your decision about getting ink, after all quality is what's important. I tell people all the time if your worried about price you dont need to get tatooed. This will be with you for a lifetime!
Good luck

Tattoo artist come up with a price on their own. They don't have a special chart or anything. It's mainly based on the size, color, the time it will take and the difficulty level. If you are wanting to know the price of a specific tattoo, take a picture/drawing to the tattoo parlor and get an estimate.

Most artists charge around $100/hr, you will pay more for a famous artist and often convention prices are higher.

They determine the price based on the size and detail of the tattoo, estimating how long it will take.

Your best bet is to bring your design to a studio and ask for an estimate

Depends on the artist and place. My first 2 were done at a shop that had a $50 minimum, then price according to how long and how intricate. My new artist prices according to time and size needles needed. Your best bet is to take the drawing of what you want and get quotes for time and price. Each place will be different.

Every shop is different. I drew a horse that I wanted on my shoulderblade and started going from shop to shop, asking what they'd charge. One shop said $100, another said $150, and so on. I finally hit one smaller, newer shop that said they'd do it for $50 if they could keep the drawing to add to their gallery. So, you just have to figure out what you want, and start shopping around. Things like size, color, degree of difficulty have a lot to do with it, plus whether or not you're using some generic design from their wall or requesting a custom freehand job.

Most artists price by the hour. Depends on the quality of the artist as well. You can find artists that only charge $60/hour but they also go as high as $125/hour. One thing to remember is that you get what you pay for. Find the web sites of your local tattoo shops and look at their portfolios.

there is no way for us to guess how much the tattoo would be. some places charge by size and by artist talent. other places charge by the hour. the best thing you can do is go to the shop where you want to get the tattoo and have them estimate a price for you.

Some shops have a $50 minimum, no matter how small it is. Besides that, it gets more expensive depending on size, number of colors, and the time the tattoo artist put into drawing it if you're asking him to draw one for you.

oh, and dont forget to tip
