i found out at age 50 ! ! that i had ADHD when tested for it by a Masters degree School Counselor who tested for ADD & ADHD and other stuff !! i was referred to her by a MD to determine whether i had it or not.....I was an insurance broker and did a lot of medical insurance, and some of my clients and their kids had it !! i had some of the conditions attributed to ADHD yet not others, so I decided to get tested and find out for sure !! some of the attributes of ADHD people are : problems finishing projects that you have started, problems focusing to get started on a project, needing total silence to be able to concentrate on doing your work, and others...Some good things to know..most ADD & ADHD folks are generally brighter and smarter than most people ! ! ! we are very creative people, we are bright, quick thinkers and problem solvers, we get bored easily after completing the hard part of a project, and have trouble with the mundane follow through to finish the task at hand.....we may change occupations several times in life, getting bored with each one, and moving on to something new and challenging !! we tend to interrupt people we are talking with, because we can sense the outcome of their conversation, and are anxious to answer or finish the thought or problem ! ! It's hard to be sure you are or are not ADHD or ADD unless you are tested by someone adept and a professional tester of this condition..don't just take a Dr's word for it..like one Dr asked me...did you have trouble in high school...when i answered no..he said then you are not ADHD or ADD..he did not know BOO...that is not a sure way of knowing, because ADHD folks can adapt to their environments, and sometimes handle the situation without realizing they are ADHD ! ! ..Try to find a MD that specializes in ADHD & ADD and things like that, and get properly evaluated !!...don't take one persons word for it, especially an MD who does not specialize in it....being an MD is not in of itself a gurantee that they know what they are talking about !!!..If I can be of further help to you, email me back, and i'll be glad to assist you however i can !!!

You see your doc and ask for a referral to a clinic that tests for this.

You obviously have not - otherwise you would not have bothered to ask the question - you would not have cared what others think.
