There is a generalized tingling sensation in my upper abdomen-as if the nerve endings in the layer of fat just

below my skin are being irritated. And every once in awhile (rarely), it feels like an electric current is going through my abdomen. The tingling last for about three weeks, then goes away, only to return a few weeks later. Any ideas of what is going on and what I can do (besides the obvious-go to doctor).
