Wow, it's looked to me like Iran has wanted to be part of the drama going on with Iraq for a few months now. First they threaten the United States by saying that they would crush the US military if the US was to go after Iran (however until then, none of us even looked at Iran), and now they have taken action by abducting 15 British troops who were on patrol in Iraqi waters. Is the government of Iran that starved for global attention that they would take such actions to involve themselves, and get into the path of Great Britain and the United States in the process? Both nations alone have the military might to crush Iran. Are they that dumb as to pick a fight with two nations that are much greater military powers?

that's stable to have satisfaction in you united states yet do not dilute your intelligence like this. at the start conflict will become further and extra complicated in each and each conflict and the line wherein we are able to define a win at has replace into thoroughly diminished. cutting-part conflict does contain a win yet often a win comes at a cost as a ensuing victory for an enemy, often attitude denotes that a extra physically powerful probability be assessed and Iraq below Saddam actual poses a extra physically powerful probability then Iran for different motives. that's easy to be heartless and ram a airplane right into a development without meant objective and no concept for harmless life, if individuals had this loss of mentality do you not think of that we could have gained already? With that mentality we could have nuked Iran/N. Korea/Iraq/Palestine years in the past. With human beings such as you that's that this that makes individuals dumb, via us showing adequate compassion as to not mass homicide your harmless is definitely our weak spot.

Some Native American tribes used to gauge how important they were based on how powerful their enemies are.

I think Iran is the same way. Also in the Middle East there is alot of importance put on being all talk, just putting up a little show when you have no intention of going through with anything.

The problem is that this is not the case for most Western countries, so their little "shows" get misinterpreted and they get dealt with like little red-headed stepchildren.

Oh well they will either play nice, learn to play nice, or get dealt with so bad that they disapeer for another 100 or so years just like the last time someone had to spank them for being bad.

Perhaps "dumb" isn't the correct description..."crazy" might be better, or perhaps "crazy like a fox." Iran would like nothing better than for the US and/or Britain to invade...I've been saying this in YA for weeks now and it's true. Look it up.
The Iranian government is perfectly happy when the Western military powers are bogged down somewhere in the Middle East (preferably Iraq, which has been an Iranian enemy longer than we have!). It helps their campaign for their own aggrandizement and makes us look silly. THEREFOR: we're NOT...repeat NOT going to oblige them and invade Iran. We're going to scare the h-e-double-toothpicks out of the mullahs and President Ahmedinejad by picking up our ball and going home.

It's perfect timing for them to do this. With the Iraq situation being so unpopular.... Neither the US or Britan wants to expand the war to Iran right now....It's also a barginning chip in the current talks on sanctions against them.
Iran can hit hard, especially against naval targets. Not a military to take lightly...

given the state of feelings about conflict now in both countries thanx to the Communist News Network the Irianian government sees that the U.S. and the British people wouldnt support a war no matter what they did short of dropping bombs on London and D.C. and hell in the U.S. those damn hippies might actually like the fact that the white house was destroyed but the fact remains that the Iranian government knows how the media works and will use it to there advantage to get away with murder

They need us to help convince their subjects that we are.. what ever they tell them we are.
Personally I think the patrol bumped into something they are even aware of. Hence the incommunicado approach.

The solution is quite simple paint "ALLAH's little helpers" in big letters all over everything, patrol boats, tanks, planes, ...
The confusion would drive them nuts.

I have to assume they aren't as stupid as they appear, and are intentionally trying to force a war for some reason. The real question is what do they have to gain from it?
