I do not see why money would not be appropriate,

But the amount depends on your relationship with the person, and what you can afford.

Since he just graduated, and Will not be settled until he has an assignment, and they usually live in barracks. Money is appropriate because being a young man, he will spend time going out with his new unit.

If he is just graduating boot I wouldnt suggest it. After he has completed his training and on his way to his primary duty station then sure. He's probably gonna be in the barracks for a while so any amount that would be sufficient for a night out on the town would be a great gift. But like others have said do it in private. It would be more of an insult to him if you do it in front of his peers.

Maybe a nice gift? Like a car if he or she doesnt have one already. That would be nice. Or you could set up a nice get together for family and friends. More than anything tell him how proud you are to see him as a Marine

Thoughtful that you're thinking of what you can do for someone after graduating boot camp.

I change my answer and defer to the Marines...... Only they know!

If you want to throw him a couple of bucks for some beer so he can celebrate his accomplishment thats cool, but do it in private dont make him look like daddys boy.

Depends on your relationship, but don't do it publicly...

Extra cash can always help a new soldier (wish I had known you!)

Nice gesture!
