Emotional infedelity is cheating, too.
If you are emotionally involved it will put your relationship at risk for ending.
Think about how emotionally involved you are and see if you would feel comfortable with your g/f doing this with another guy online....

Chatting on the internet may be cheating on your girlfriend if your girlfriend defines it as a form of cheating. I know that many times in a relationship the male and the female have seperate interpretations of what exactly constitutes cheating. So the best way to find out if this is cheating is to ask her. The only reason you'd be asking for a definition online is probably because you have a feeling that she might consider chatting cheating or at a minimum not be very happy with you engaging in this activity.

You don't have to mention that you have been doing this, but you can discuss the topic in a casual way. However, I'm certain if this is something that you are hiding from her which offers the questions: Do you want to be with this girl in a way that isn't purely physical? or Are there some trust issues in this relationship?

Chatting leads to other stuff....that's the problem. Everyone's opinion of cheating is different. Some say an emotional attachment to another person is cheating, others say kissing is and then there are the people that think everything short of intercourse is ok.

If you are involved, you should not be chatting up singles on the internet, engaging in cybersex, etc.... it's that simple.

You're not phsyically doing anything so no. Unless you're "dating" women on the internet. Then that would be considered cheating. Also, it doesn't matter if she sees what you're typing...that's like saying, "Is it considered cheating if I have sex but my wife doesn't see me doing it with the other woman?" The answer is obviously yes. But like I said, if you're just chatting, not touching then it's not cheating...unless you're dating women online.

Chatting is okay.

Friendship is okay.

If you're flirting around or cybering, then yes of course it's cheating, the same as if you were doing it in person. A basic rule of thumb -- if you're spending time and energy on your internet relationship, you'd be better off spending that time and energy on your girlfriend.

Let me put it like this: Anything you do that you feel you can't reveal to your partner at that time is considered cheating in my eyes. If you talk on the phone, the net, thru letters, etc. and your girl doesn't know about it IT'S CHEATING!! If she did it would it be okay??

Yes, its an emotional cheating and not cool. How would you feel if your girlfriend was doing what your doing, just how your doing it? That should give you a clue as to the answer.

if it's just chatting, then no, but if your talking to them like you would a bf/gf, then I would say yes, especially if you both feel as if you're going out... an online relationship is the same as an offline relationship minus the seeing them, unless you send pics or webcam

yes . just because you don't see them its still wrong. unless its just as friends but if your talking to that person in a way you wouldn't want your girlfriend to see then your cheating.
