true Capoeira utilizes "gravity" and not "momentum" It is a mis-understanding to say that Capoeira is like a rope with a weight or a knot at the end being swung around.

Another misnomer is to say that Capoeira is "Brazilian" or "South American". Capoeira is African.

many Kung Fu styles study the way an animal moves and then they mimic that animal. African martial arts, on the other hand study the animal and look for the intention of the animal rather then the external movement. I am not a Tiger so I don't try and move like a Tiger. Rather, I try and internalize the spirit or the "eye" of the tiger.

Capoeira utilizes what we call a Bipod/tripod stance. we don't roll on the ground like Monkey Kung Fu. Only our hands and feet touch the ground (sometimes our head too). Also, there is not a lot of jumping around in true Capoeira. Capoeira, for the most part, stays on the ground.

there are also geometrical principals involved in Capoeira. I am not sure what science monkey kung fu follows other than an observation of monkeys.

I am not taking anything away from the Monkey Style but there are many differences between the two.

Don't get confused by these two styles because both have very low stances. Instead of listing all the differences it would be easier to list the similarities. But to put simply one is Chinese and the other originated in Brazil. There are many type of Monkey styles depending on which style of kung-fu you are talking about. There are only differences between the same style of copoeira. Think of a rope with a weight attached to the end of it, and swinging it around in a circular motion, this is how the power is generated for capoeira. Think of a gorilla pulling down a branch of a tree, this is how power is generated for most styles of monkey kung-fu.

the list continues and gets more technical, but it seems you have limited experience of martial arts and might be unable to grasp all the differences.

Kung Fu is a Chinese art and monkey would be one of the animal styles involved. Capoeira is South American I believe and is very rhythmic.

Principles from these two arts are very different and from two different cultures.

There are not many simularities at all.
