My new personal trainer says I should be consuming only 1300 calories a day based on my height (5'5") and weight (113 lbs.). This number seems very low to me. I am pretty active. I do yoga for 1 and a half hours on Saturdays; I do step aerobics for 45 minutes on Mondays and Wednesdays; I also go to the gym 4 times a week and do appx. 20-25 minutes of cardio and half an hour of weight training.

It depends, are you trying to lose weight or maintain your current weight? I think what he said is about accurate, the smaller you are, the less calories you should consume. I would recommend you try eating 1500 calories and see if that makes you gain weight.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

He's a bit goofy, I think. You are actually underweight. At your height, even if you have a very small frame (bone structure), the least you should weigh is around 125. With all you do physically, I would have guessed more like 1600 to 1800. Talk to a doctor to be sure.

1300 sounds too low to me! And at 113 lbs., you sure don't need to LOSE any weight!
Honestly, with as active as you are, I wouldn't think you would really need to monitor your calorie intake all that much.
I'd just use common sense... eat sensibly... and not worry about doing things "by the book".
