This company bills the client company for my work like more than $100/hr. And they don't even pay me half of the billing rate. How do I negotiate to get a better rate?

Having had to pay a 'billing specialist' across the years; from 4% to 7% to 10%....I think 10% is more than adequate.

There are several factors to take into account, gerenally the consulting company takes about 11% for your taxes and SS, and a percentage for profit. If you are an employee of the consuting company, they may also take a percentage for your holiday and vaction pay.

Ultimately the time to negotiate the rate is when the company hires you. After you've accepted the contract is often too late as the client will not appreciate a rate raise.
