A man lives in a 40 storey building. Everyday (except Sunday) he goes to work and takes the lift (for U.S guys - elevator) to the ground floor and goes off to work.
When he comes home, however, he only takes the lift to the 12th floor and then walks up the stairs to his apartment.
Why?!

Because he's a janitor in the 40 storey building and when he goes home then the lifts stops at floor 12 then walks up the steps he's at home or it's because he lives on the 12th floor,or he is too short to reach any higher buttons above 12, or he lives on the 13th floor and there is no button for the 13th floor! Am I right please say I'm right because it's either the 12th floor he lives on and he is to short to ereach any higher i have to be right just please tell is am right.

The man is a dwarf and can only reach the 12th floor button. He has no trouble reaching the 1st floor button that's why he he can take the lift all the way down.

Because he's a midget (or very short). He can hit the ground floor button, but can only reach as high as the 12th floor button. The alternate version of the riddle doesn't mention him going down, but says when it's sunny out he goes to the 12th floor and walks up, but when it rains he goes straight to the 40th (using his umbrella to hit the button).

Becoz he is a midget!! When He Is goin 2 Work He Can Reach the Ground Floor Button((Coz Its at The Bottom)) But when he comes home he can only Reach The 12TH floor button coz he is soo small!!

he is a liitle dwarf so he can reach the ground button 2 go down because it is low but when he wants 2 go up he can only reach the 12th floor button and has 2 walk the rest of the way........

Because he is too short to reach the higher numbers. However if he continues walking up that amount of stairs then he will wear his little legs away and so be unable to reach as far as the number 12!

Because the 13th floor is considered unlucky, plus some buildings don't actually name a 13th floor as of the bad luck thing !!.
