Abortion is a selfish act. Many people live in poverty and if given the choice would choose to live.

This is nothing but an excuse to avoid personal responsibility for choices made and then attempt to justify one's action through atonement .. with a human sacrifice

I just spent 5 hours the other day at the fair with a beautiful little11 year old girl named Sarah whose mother I convinced 12 years ago to not have an abortion(she listened to me).

I am so sorry that you had to be raised in such "horrible conditions" however it seems to me that your parents loved you no matter how much they did not have. If 2 people have sex and they get pregnant there is a child involved. It is not up to us to decide who lives and who dies. I guess you think we can play God here.We cannot there is only one God, and he is your creator. You said your parents had too many children- would you be happy if one of your brothers and sisters were not there because of an abortion? If you say yes, you need much more help than money could offer you-
My family is struggling with finances and health issues however I am so thankful for the gift of my children- they are not a choice/.

Yes. Children, even unborn children have rights. In a society where there is availability of birth control, those who engage in sexual activities should take responsibility for their actions, prior to "making the mistake". A person who contracts AIDS does not have an after the fact remedy; it is a consequence they are forced to deal with. I hope that a cure for AIDS, a disease is found. A child is not a disease. People need to start taking responsibility before they need to face a serious consequence. Unfortunately, most people want a quick, easy fix for their lack of good judgment.

God says the poor will always be with us. Pride is a sin and you are full of pride. I don't know what country you live in, but in America, I honestly believe that poverty should not be here. If it is it is greed of the wealthy that allows it to exist. I came from a poor family also. Mother, my sister, my neice and I lived on a social security check for my sister and myself that mother got because of my father's death. We were poor but loved and clean. I never once thought I would be better off dead than alive. We were raised in a Christian home.

ABORTION IS SHEDDING INNOCENT BLOOD AND GOD SAYS DO NOT DO IT. THERE IS LIFE IN THE BLOOD.

Young women suffer greatly years after abortion with terrible guilt. It is the most horrible and disgusting practice carried on in America. It takes a heart of stone and the most wicked to kill little babies. God forgive this country.

Life is a gift. Death is not. To be or not to be is not a question to be answered by man.

-note: all the answers that attempt to condemn Christians that don't adopt: WAKE UP! There are thousands of couples that want to adopt but cannot because the fetuses are rotting in landfills!

that has to be one of the most sick and twisted statements i have ever heard. You have never seen people pick themselves out of proverty. Great people have come from virtually nothing, but through hard work have made themselves into something. It's sad to simply give up on people and it's pretty much the easy way out.

Abort them you say.

I say have them and help them. You would be treading in dangerous water by killing anything that made you sad when you turn on the TV. And this is definitely not he high rode you think it to be.

I grew up in the same way...poor. My mom made 11,000 per year, and she had to support herself and 3 kids. We lived ina car for a while, etc. It SUCKED! I know that if I were to get pregnant and did not have financial means to support that child, I would abort. I agree that most people think about what they know to be right, and now what may be best for the child.

Are you taking an innocent life when you cut a fingernail? Give me a break. Some of these people obviously have a less than remedial understanding of biology.

Because abortion is wrong. People are using it as birth control. I don't know why more people don't go down to their local planned parenthood or health department to get birth control. IT"S FREE!!!!

Adoption? Better quality cheaper birth control? Its the mother's personal choice. Not yours. Not mine. Not the Governments. No ones. I wouldn't do it but thats just me.
