Time has proven, that even with visual miracles, those with hardened hearts will still question God and find a reason to deny Him and His power. Even when Jesus walked the earth and perfomed miracles, His power was attributed to demons. Isn't it ironic that one will accept the existence of Satan's Power, and not God's?
If miracles were still performed today, humans would find some way to attribute it to science, new age beliefs, aliens, or some type of mental attraction. We now have the Word of God as evidence and teaching, and although God still peforms miracles, they are not as necessary, because truth has been clearly revealed in scripture. Faith is all we need.

Remember that we only have the written mythology as accounts for these events. There is nothing whatsoever to suggest that any of these "miraculous events" ever happened. No extra-Biblican corroborating evidence, no external testimony verifying them, nothing.
"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" only works up until the point when you don't find any evidence where you SHOULD find it. Such as traces of a mass migration from Egypt to Canaan. Or traces of Egyptian influence on Hebrew art or language. Or accounts by other cultures regarding a day in which the sun stood still. Or indications of a worldwide flood in the geological column.

Because he doesn't exist. Back then, people saw God in things that they didn't understand. Things that we now know to be caused by nature, back then people thought was the work of a God. Doesn't it seem a little unfair that back then people were presented with obvious proof for God yet we get no if not proof against his existence? The problem is that he doesn't exist. If some sort of God does exist, he isn't the God that most people make him out to be. He would be something, something beyond our comprehension and care.

God IS revealing Himself in mighty ways all over the world. Just because YOU don't see it or it is not on CNN doesn't mean the Creator is not revealing Himself to His creation. South America and Africa, whom have been covered in darkness for centuries, are seeing and experiencing awesome things. The United States of America as well as other Western countries, whom have reaped the benefits of Gods blessings and have now turned a blind eye to Him, are getting very little. Thats just the way it is. Research whats happening all over the world before assuming God is dead! A great revival IS taking place.

As generations became more evil and wicked, the true Word of God has been lost in preparation for the Lord's return during the Tribulation. The birth of Christ was the catalyst that was needed. The Father's holy Son took over the intial "job" God was doing. It makes a more wicked generation depend on faith alone rather than works and miracles. For those who have that faith receive these miracles everyday....

The same reason that alien sighting don't happen anymore. . technology has advanced far enough that it would actually provide evidence or proof of existence.
God really doesn't want people to know he exists. It's all about population control in heaven. Doesn't want it to get overcrowded so it's better that most people go to hell.

Because he has now revealed himself to us in his Word the Bible. All the miraculous things we read about were done for a purpose. To reveal God to the people at a time when his word didn't exist in written form. Remember Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible.

There is no God. The "way he used to" is not reality - they're just stories, as is everything around revealed religions. Nature rules! And there is *no* supernatural and mystical at all.
[Edit]: *If* people still believed in Santa, which would conflict with my beliefs, you bet I'd be there defending my beliefs! My stating God doesn't exist = your stating God does exist. Have you any problems with anyone defending their belief system?

You're talking about the God of the Old Testament. Yet, He can still speak as He did to David except we aren't willing to listen b/c we are caught up in our day to day activities running around like mice in a race.

He does manifest himself in these days. You have to remember that the stories were told by prophets or the select few whom God spoke with. Not everyone saw the burning bush. We must follow those who have seen God manifest, and we must look for God's hand in our lives.
