I'm not Christ, but you seem to be asking the community here, so i'll answer...
stop using the Lord's name in vain, and you will die a slow painful death if you dont stop smoking so much.

You will die. Maybe not from smoking, but the smoking wont help things any. You should care, if you care about being comfortable and enjoying your life later on. Try visiting a hospital or retirement home with an emphesyma patient. You'll know what I mean real quick.
When you're ready to quit, and admit that you have a problem, then get help. Get into a group, or call a hotline like 1-800-NO BUTTS, and quit. It will take time. I used to smoke 2 packs a day, and it took me a year and a half to wean myself off the habit and finally quit. I have been clean for 1 year now, and one thing I notice is how much more comfortably I can breathe. Hope you can do the same.
Good Luck.

4 PACKS a day? How is that even possible? Do you do ANYTHING without a cigarette? That is ridiculous. You better care!
Plus cigarettes cost a fortune these days. How do you afford it?
How old are you? I can't imagine that you feel very good in general. Even at the height of my smoking, I didn't hit a pack a day. If I smoked a pack or more, it was because I was drinking and always felt horrible the next day--from so much smoking. 4 packs would kill me in about a week. Have you tried cutting down? Quitting is best, obviously, but it may not work for you right now.

As long as you don't smoke around children or people who have lung problems (i.e. asthma, bronchitis, cancer, etc.), then it's OK.
Should you care? Depends on how happy you are with yourself and your life. If you're miserable, have a family who hates you, a job you detest, nothing worth living for, then no--you shouldn't care. If you're happily married, have a couple adorable children that you'd like to see grow up, graduate college and start families of their own, then yes--you should care.
We all have to die some day. Chances are you will develop some type of cancer or illness directly related to your smoking. If you don't, then you're one of the lucky few.
I laugh when I see people eat healthy, don't smoke, don't drink, go for yearly physicals, blah blah blah, then turn around and die at age 49 of a massive heart attack. Hah! They've starved themselves, taken away all the "fun" things in life, etc. and STILL died earlier that someone who drinks, smokes, and eats like a pig. That's what makes life worthwhile for me. :D

I smoke a pack a day and sometimes I smoke two, but it makes it hard to breathe, and I start to cough. I don't know how anyone can smoke that much-I would die in a month

The question is not "How soon?", but rather how long and agonizing that death will be. Suffocation is a very unpleasant way to die. It has many names: emphysema, COPD, lung cancer - but it's basically suffocation.
BTW, I know what you are dealing with. I also smoke.

I had an old grandma that smoked packs a day for almost her entire life. She died at the age of 80. She was in great mental and physical shape. She never got cancer and rarely got sick - she died in a plane crash.

lots of christians smoke..my folks smoked up until my father had a stroke//he lasted about four years in the nursing home..paralyzed half of his body...he stopped smoking as soon as he had the stroke..he could not talk and lost control of his ability to get out of bed..but he did last four years as an invalid.
my mother got AD(old timers disease) and she lasted a little longer then my dad..and ended her last five years in a nursing home...she forgot how to smoke..as the disease progressed..
i am sure God will overlook this habit of yours...its not good but not enough to send you to the smoking secton..if you catch my drift...maybe

In my opinion, it's something you should care about. Maybe try smoking less each day. Cut it gradually.
