Currently I am talking with an insurance company and I believe they are not giving me a fair settlement, the offer right now is $2,500 pain and suffering. My doctor had me take off work for one week, I had 12 PT sessions, I could not sit for more than one hour at a time. I was the maid of honor in my sister's wedding that weekend and I couldn't do much of anything. Their driver clearly did not see a red light and ran into the back of my car. The car damage was about $3,000. Anyone who could help me I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know anyone who has ever been through this so I don't know what is fair or not. Other research is telling me this is not fair.

You are lucky you only had a minor injury. Take the money & be glad it wasn't worse. Count your lucky stars!!! I fractured my back in 2 places and NEVER MISSED ONE day of work. I was not allowed to lift or bend but that was my only restriction. I work in an office so that was doable. So what, I had to get up & move around often. It healed & I am glad I am not in a wheelchair. Also a few years later had an injury that gave me chronic sciatica - I still NEVER MISSED ONE day of work. It still bothers me (& I can feel bad weather coming) but so what, I am healthy otherwise & glad I can do all the things I CAN do.

Talk to a lawyer and see what is just. $3000 for a rear end collision is not usually a high impact kinda injury, but you know best. But, be aware that some lawyers want a new yacht out of it, so be honest and fair. I personally would wait until I was healed, but loss of work is usually not to be included; but all medical bills are. Loss of ability to stand and work is pain and suffering. So if you are 100% now, try to get over it ,but have your meds paid and car fixed. My philosophy is; What goes around comes around. So be fair and honest.

haha you are SO LUCKY you got that much. this is a MINOR injury... you arent even owed anything over medical bills. Dont listen to the peopel who say 3 times your medical expenses... they have no idea what they are talking about. Everyone who gets in an accident has a "sob story" like yours. This is life. It happens.. money doesnt make up for that. Take what they are giving you and run- dont be greedy! you are very lucky.

People get crazy major injuries where for months and years they cant sit down or be part of life events such as weddings.. people like THAT deserve 10k settlements... you had a minor inconvenience for a few weeks. I bet you complain about insurance prices too huh? Ever consider its people like you who raise the rates?

Girl above me is CRAZY to think you will get that much.. you had so little treatment.. minor damage to your car... getting a lawyer will just take 30% of that 2500.

technically, you should be HAPPY with $2,500. My car accident cost about the same last year ($3,000), but I was only given a settlement of $1,500, because they wanted to "claim" it was 50/50 even though my agent said it was NOT, but she couldn't get her boss to change his mind. Who cares about your sister's wedding? Thats done and over with, you cant go back in time and make her get married all over again. BOO HOO go cry in your beer, chica. Take the $2,500, and be happy you squeezed one damn dime outta those ppl lol.

Do NOT settle with the insurance co. They don't want what is in your best interest, they want what is in THEIR best interest. Contact a lawyer. You'll end up with a minimum of $10K.
