I'm tired of premier travel and ordinary B&Bs, I want to treat myself to something special. I would love to spend a night in a converted lighthouse, boat, little cottage or a hotel with a superb view, could you please recommend me something? Anywhere in the UK, I don't mind. If you have a website to suggest even better, thanks!

How about a Wigwam!
there are several for rent along the western highlands. Very scenic, good for touring and definetely a bit different.

Can you make your own breakfast?
If so, go for one of the Landmark Trust's properties -- self-catering, but totally brilliant and certainly fulfil your wish for unusual buildings, superb views and 'something special'.

The Landmark Trust is a small charity that rescues buildings of all kinds: castles, follies, pavilions, gatehouses, a house of correction... even things like pigsties. They have nearly 200 now, all over the UK, plus a scattering abroad.
And they restore them, fit them out and decorate them (to a good standard, too) and rent them out as holiday homes. Then they plough any profit back into rescuing more weird and wonderful buildings...
:D
