i have seen many healings in my time as a christian, yet have not seen one that can be proved as substancial proof as a true healing? i have seen many frauds, many based on unbalanced teachings. i have seen many false prophesies and the liking. the question i raise is did jesus only heal during his time to mark the importance of his time and the early church- and when he said this evil generation all they demand is miracles and signs so the only sign they will see is the miracle of jonah- which is symbolic christ dying and raising back to life after the third day- so maybe this relates to all of us today and back to that period? please prove me wrong by stating your miraclious healing that cant have any other explanation?

why would you base it on something you read online?

one of the manifestations of the spirit is "gifts of healing".

many many people have experienced God's intervention on their behalf, but the church has become sterile, or a cacophony of spiritual mumbo jumbo.

I could sight several miracles I have witnessed, but what proof do I have? Ask the Father to show you.

Jesus was not the first healer, there are a number of healers that were around in his time, he was one of many, he was just more prominent because of the change he created and the fact that the Catholic Church decided he was divine at the Council of Nicaea. Were he not considered the son of God, he would be no more remarkable in his healings than any other man of his time that was doing the same thing.

Now, as for today, there are cases of diseases mysteriously going away, or into remission, after faith healing. However these diseases might've gone into remission on their own or by use of the placebo effect. Scientific study could determine this. It does not make it any less interesting. In order to have a placebo effect happen a person must believe that the method of healing will work, then their body makes it work. It may not be by the hand of God, but if that is your belief, you can believe that it's by design of God. If it were true that people now could heal the sick with touch, those people would be called doctors and be in demand at all times.

Now back to Jesus, no matter what he did, whether divine or not, he merely applied tools to achieve an end. If he used divine tools they're still tools nonetheless. Today we have less need of such tools, because we have medicine. If one believes in the might of God to create all, then medicine is just a derivative of God's creation. It is itself in a way a divine tool, only made for regular Joe.

So, it may simply be God's plan now to have us heal ourselves, instead of having others heal us.

I hope this made sense.

Healings go on today as well as when Jesus was alive. My mentor was completely healed of MS when her prognosis was slim to none surviving past 30... she is now 62... and was completely healed within 3 days of God giving that prophecy to her sister in law that she would be completely healed.... The doctors could do nothing to help her... and yet, she was completely healed by God

when we start believing that God is STILL working today just as He was then..... He opens our eyes to many things... healings, miracles, etc. 'Men' will try to disprove anything of God .... but when we know God personally, we see so much more than what the world sees or believes

I question some claims of healing. Others I accept. I have seem some documented evidence for some of the claims. And a few I can say by the honest character of the recipient that they are credible if not proveaable. I may not always agree with all the theology the recipient suggests but I don't deny the veracity and documentation. I kknew a woman wo is nfortunately dead now who was in a vegitative stae in a hospital she was healed of alzheimers. Her name was May stafford and she spent the rest of her living days reaching out to others in in old age homes. Another name for you to investigate is betty baxter who was born with a crippling condition. Look her up on the web you may find some info. There are a few others bt my time is limited.

Well, I think that we (believers) tend to ingore the reason why miracles need to be proven in any other form than by testimonies and word of mouth from one to another. I'm not saying they should or shouldn't but this is a good argument. On the other hand, I can account for God delivering me from drug addiction, etc. It happened from one day to the next and not even I could conceive the idea of being changed from one day to the next... I still am in awe and it's been 7 yrs. My testimony has no solid proof except to ask those that knew me before I was delivered (deliverance is a whole seperate thing from salvation). One can be saved and still not be delivered from their bondages. I will have you know that God is still saving, delivering souls and setting them free from captivity. The question is where are we putting our focus? As Christians of this age, we tend to walk around more sick than the world b/c we assume things are well with us just cause we go to church once, twice, three times a week and we sing and shout about all God's goodness. I have lots to say about this but I think that if anyone is to blame for us not seeing God's mighty hand the way we could see it... it's the church b/c of the focus on legality, money, materialism, doctrine, etc. You get my point? Know from the mouth of one who's seen the Mighty Hand of God move in such a way that it's not acceptable in the natural realm.

I am a christian by birth and I dont believe in miracles, and faith healing. I had a friend who healed me of my sickness not with medicine. I had some kind of corns (some boil kind of thing, does not pain nor itch but looks very ugly) in both my feet (around 25 in each feet). One day he said do you want this to be removed, I said yes and all he said when I ask you will you give the corns to me you say yes and I did. I found it as a joke and forgot all about it and believe me I did not notice that I did not have the corns till I met him about a year later. I still dont know what he did or did it heal by itself.

After 4 knee surgeries...the doctor, the medicine could do nothing about the pain. I was in constant, all the time everyday pain. God took that away....I no longer feel like a million sharp knives are being driven into my knees when I walk out in the cold. I can't tell when it's raining any more and I used to be able to "feel" the rain even if someone just opened the door and it was raining. I should still be in pain....I've done nothing different. God did it. I can't explain how or why, I just know I'm not in pain today. I do believe in God and all He has done for me.

I have seen true healings in my church. To be able to truly do a miricle you have to act in the athority of the holy Melchezidic priesthood. Which is the athority or priesthood that Christ carried. When ever a blessing or miricle is performed it is suppose to be done by the laying on of hands by worthy priesthood holders.

There are only 2 religious denominations that claim to carry this priesthood. The LDS or Mormon and Catholic church.

If a church could really heal as christ did they would carry the priesthood right?

I researched both and found that the spirit backed the Mormon church and not the Catholic.

It is a prmise in the book of Mormon that if you read and ask god if this church is his and the true church of God he will manifest the truth to you.

A healing is also predicated on the persons faith in Christ. who is being healed

Hope this helps

no, people are still healed miraculously today. The thing that is consistent is that God does it because of faith, not for it. He's not trying to prove anything but faith when he heals a person. Those who look for proof, seek God with the wrong motives. You must seek him with faith. He is the same yesterday today and forever, the great physician.

A leader in my church had a bad heart 13 years ago. The doctors gave him up to die. They gave him about 2 days to live because they couldn't find a heart for him. All churches in our local area prayed for him. They found a heart that next day. They gave him the implant but said (at that time) the life span of a heart implant would last about 5 years. He is still in our church leading church services 13 years later.
God gives life, God takes it away.
