It would depend on how long ago you had your hair highlighten, you could try the toners wash in wash out shades, as you would not need to prelighten you hair, or you could try one of the new shampoos out which are for blonde hair.

firstly, how recently? what are you using to wash it?
if has has been within the last month, ask the salon who did it to retone for you, if it was longer and/or you haven't been using the right products to look after it, then all colours change and usually become warmer over time. (all to do with the underlying pigment that permanent hair colour works with in hair) blonde/violet shampoos contain a small amount of colour that stops hair from yellowing or becoming brassy inbetween having your colour touched up. anything further is best dealt with at a salon. Unless you know what chemistry is in the colour you put on at home to tone your highlights you could like your natural colour a little to and end up looking a bit gingery, especially at the root

yes you can, but be careful when reading the instructions to see if you cannot use it with previously highlighted hair. The colour will not go the same shad as it does say on the packagng, so pick carefully!

If you got it done at a salon, go back and ask them to tone it and fix it for you- it would be easier and less messy, plus they are obligated to make it right- after all, you are the customer, right? Don't try it at home so you don't make it too dark and ruin the highlights.

you should tone your hair or do a hair rinse...
use professional hair color with a very LOW developer.
