Well most people are born with curly hair. It's natural. Other's get a perm or a body wave to have a longer lasting curl. Some people just use hot rollers or a curling iron for an even more temporary curl.

Definitely genetics!! You can always use a curling iron, hot rollers and/or a hair dryer with a round brush.
For lasting curls a perm will keep you curly longer than the irons and rollers.
My hair is naturally curly, but I prefer it to be straight and use a straight iron on it.

The ultimate answer is genetics. Curly hair is a gene-linked trait - but hair is curly because it has a different shape than straight hair. Curly hair is a more oval shape than straight hair, if I remember correctly, making it curl.

They get it because of they're Gene.
I have Natrually strait hair and I cannot do anything to make it curley unless if I wet my hair and put these Soft Curlers by Conair and Twist the wire together. They don't hurt either thought.
