Do you love the one your with?

If you can't be with the one you love you find someone that you can love...you don't stay with the one you can't love because you end up hurting the one that you don't love and of course you hurt yourself too being with someone that you can't love because you could be with someone you love instead..

When I was with my ex I felt like I should really be with the person I love which is now my boyfriend but I let me and my ex's relationship run its course (which is when I realized I didn't really love him so what was I doing). I broke things off and now I'm with the one I love but I was not going to love my ex again just because I couldn't be with my boyfriend at the time. Whats meant to be will be. Don't try and love someone just because, you will end up hurting that person because if the one you love comes along then you will drop that person leaving them in despaired not knowing what they did wrong, when the relationship was wrong from the start.

I understand and respect that people don't want to be alone. However, I think this idea just screws you and the person you don't really love over. If the person you're with isn't the right one, how can either one of you possibly find the Right person if you're stuck together? You can't be afraid to be alone and find the person who's perfect for you. Otherwise things might go to far (ie. "well I guess we should get married cause we've been together for so long) and no matter how long you're together you'll always be alone.

If only it were so simple.
If you are truly in love with someone, than you cannot be in love with another until you let go.
There is no answer to your question. At least not in the way you've used the lyrics to ask it. If you cannot be with the person you are in love with, then take some time to heal and move on with your life. Otherwise whomever you're with next will always be competing with the ghost of whomever your heart yearns for.
The only other option is to remain faithfully committed to the one you are in love with and fight to have them in your life.

i adore him, but thats not the end of the world if u cant be with the one u love, u will definitely get someone who adores u.
