No, it's not safe but accidental ingestion won't hurt, I wouldn't recommend you used it as mint though, to be on the safe side get yourself some mints.

Not really. Toothpaste has fluoride in it, and you dont want to swallow much, if any, of that. And if you ate too much, it could make you very sick. So, it'd be a good idea for you to just buy some gum or mints.

well if you do this you'll be getting a pretty high doseage of sodium. Just go the pharmacy and get some mints...I'm pretty sure people can smell the difference between mints and toothpaste.

Not really, most toothpaste these days contains both fluoride and peroxide, both of which are not too good for you, especially your bones.
They can also damage your nerves and brain over a period of time.
In small amounts they can be safe, but ingesting it over a period of time can cause levels to build up and do your harm.

NO!! Toothpaste is considered a poison...it's posted on the label.
Never use it as a mouthwash, or injest it as abreath mint. If you swallow any, call poison control immediately.

There's "safe" and there's "safe." Keep in mind that fluoride is used in rat poison. On the other hand, accidental ingestion isn't going to hurt you.

There's a reason the tube says "if ingested, call poison control immediately" Don't swallow it! Floride in large amounts is really bad for you!
