first off nose rings are sexy as hell so if u are allowed to get one get it if u really like it, i have mine done, i got it a few weeks ago. everyone is different but mine didnt hurt, it was 2 seconds and then i was done, it hurt a lil but my belly button hurt more, go to a professional and get it done. also when they say wait 6-8 weeks to take ur nose ring out wait that long maybe even longer, i took mine out for like 2 seconds and i couldnt get it back in, i had to go back and have the lady put it in again!!!! i love my nose ring and a lot of people think i look really cute with it. also its better to get it done with a needle, my nose ring isnt straight, so they couldnt use a gun, my nose ring is a screw, not an actual screw but the shpe is different, look it up on google

dont let these people decide what u should do, if u want it, go get it!!!!

edit: oh yeah like the other person said h20cean is really good for your nose, i use that for my piercing

There is nothing you can do for the pain, it goes along with the piercing. Ice won't do much, pain killers will thin out your blood and cause more bleeding when you get the piercing done, topical creams don't work and injected anesthetics can only be administered by trained professionals. No reputable professional piercer will numb the area, but pain should not be a determining factor if you get this piercing or not. It won't be THAT bad, you'll live. The piercing itself is very quick, so its tolerable.

Always get piercings done with a needle because the gun is very dangerous and causes more pain and problems

Go to a reputable piercer, and take care of your piercing and you shouldn't have problems.

You want to have your nose pierced by a professional. They will use a hollow needle to do the job. Do not get your nose pierced with a gun. You will likely have scarring. Also - Your nose is not pierced with the same studs that go in your ears. You should have it pierced with a loop - this will allow you to thoroughly clean the piercing while it heals. You can than switch to a stud (no back) or screw - I like the screws the best.

As for pain... It isn't that bad. You get the initial ouch which will cause you to tear up a lot - your nose and tear ducts are connected. The pain after is not bad at all though - just keep it clean. You could probably take some pain killers before hand, but they won't help with the actual pain from the piercing, just the after pain.

i peirced my own nose almost a year ago. i used a icecube & kept it in my nose the whole time i was peircing it ( you dont want to peirce the inside of ur nose) it really didnt hurt until the last layer of skin, because it kind of pops. Other then that it doesnt hurt. I used a needle that i burned then cleaned with peroxide. for awhile i got little blood bubbles next to it but i cleaned it everyday(without taking it out so it could heal) and the bubbles eventually went away.

I have friends that got theirs perfessionally done & they just stick a tube up ur nose and stick the needle in through. and even they got the blood bubbles.

I wear studs they look really cute & i got tons of compliments so i'm sure urs will look good too, but dont get big studs cause i know some people that use like normal earrings.

You can not sterilize a piercing gun. When you get pierced with one, you get the left over blood and tissue from the people pierced with it before you. Guns also hurt more, because they don't so much pierce your skin, as shove a blunt object through it. Go to a pro, who will use a needle..

There's nothing you can do about the pain. Don't take painkillers, they won't work and it can cause complications. Over the counter topical stuff won't work either. Piercings only hurt for about 30 seconds (although it may feel longer). You just have to suck it up if you want it done.

I got my nose pierced last summer in India and I thought it would be horribly painful, but it really wasn't. Just one poke through the nose and a 1-3 seconds of tolerable pain. But seeing as you are 14, you need parental consent and I don't think you should get it until you're older. I got my nose piercing removed a few months after getting it. A nose piercing is a lot of work (cleaning it all the time and easier risk of infection and all that jazz).

First of all you need to be 18 or have a parent sign for you. As my nose is pierced, yes it did hurt. Make sure a professional piercer does it for you. They do use a needle. Don't make these choices on your own. The person who does this professionally will direct you on the care for you new piercing.

go to a professional that pierces for a living and who pierces with a needle.

If they are good at their job they will be able to make you a bit calmer and comfortable and will be able to talk you through it and help you with some self hypnosis (breathing prior to and during the piercing).

Going to a professional and following proper aftercare directions (salt soaks or H2Ocean are probably the easiest and best ways), infection shouldn't be an issue. One thing to remember, don't touch or let your friends touch your nose or jewelry during healing. Touching with dirty hands is an open invite to infection.

And for the love of god... don't use a nose bone as jewelry.

sorry hun, but getting your nose peirced is one of the most painful peircings to get. youll have to deal with it then, it will only hurt for a few minutes and as for it getting infected, you should wash it regularly with soap and water and nothing else. no special cremes or anything. just soap and water everyday. and if you dont like it, then you can take it out and it will heal right up.
but just to let you know, if it does get infected DO NOT take out the jewelery. this could cause the infection to heal inside and worsen. just keep cleaning it and it will be back to new.
remember to keep dirty fingers away from your fresh peircings!
go to a professional to have it done! they use hollow needles and nothing else should be used! a peircing gun is ridiculous!

if i were u i would get it professionally done with a needle, it hurts for a couple of minutes. but ur only a baby, just be sure that is what u really want and that ur parents are okay with it. there's really nothing u can do to stop the pain. they can also get infected and itchy easily...probably from all the boogies in ur nose. but just make sure u really want it because if u don't like it and u take it out, it could leave a permanent hole in ur nose.
