There is no interaction between alcohol and any penicillins, including amoxicillin, though this is not a licence to drink yourself into coma!

dont. some anti biotics have detrimental consequences at the same time as used with alcohol mutually with having you extra inebriated, or drowsy. this can look like a established sat nighttime out yet what alchohol also does is dehydrate you and flush out the drugs out your gadget extra. So the anti biotics dont get to do their pastime suitable and also you may proceed to be ill. asserting that I have drank fairly on anti biotics and that i became fantastic, besides the indisputable fact that, I have heard some horror thoughts mutually with an infection coming near ten cases worse so ideal verify you chemist and your record or stay sober

It is possible to drink alcohol with amoxycillin but it is not wise. A basic rule of thumb would be - If you are ill enough to need antibiotics then you are too ill to consume large amounts of alcohol. Go to the party but don't drink, you'll be surprised how much fun you have if only laughing at all the drunk people making fools of themselves, you will also wake up on Saturday feeling healthier than you would if you were drinking! Give it a try, antibiotics or not, if you don't make a fus about not drinking and drink things like coke so people will assume there is a shot in there no-one will even notice.

I read your question, its something maybe a lot of people would like to know about, then i read the answers you already had,ha ha ha ha,how little they know,if you take antibiotics, they do you good, however if you take alcohol with them, all the alcohol does is decrease the strength of the dose,if,as one of your readers has said about someone falling over...its because too much alcohol was drank, and nothing to do with the antibiotics, its easy to try and blame the drugs, when the truth is the person just doesnt know when to stop drinking.

When ever you take antibiotics you should never have any alcohol as it can react with the antibiotics.
Sometimes you can get a bad reation and need hopital treatment.
It would be best to either avoid drinking or could you wait untill after the party before you take them, and don't for get to take the whole course even if you start to feel better.

Alcohol can irritate your stomach if taken with amoxicillin, so it would be best avoided or at the least leave a couple of hours between taking it and drinking. Then try to restrict how much you drink.
Hope this helps

If you have been prescribed a course of antibiotics it is not recommended that you imbibe alcohol at the same time [during the course of treatment]. The reason given by my own GP is that booze and antibiotics don't mix. The booze stops the treatment from working. Usually antibiotic treatment last for about a week only. Resist all booze during your course of treatment. If you delay your treatment then you may worsen your existing bad health condition - whatever it may be.

Alcohol decreases the effects of the antibiotics. In other words, if you drink during the 10 days you are on them, you won't get well and will probably have to do another 10 days on the antibiotics again.

Amoxycillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, and with alcohol may make you feel nauseous. If you MUST drink, try limiting it to 2 or 3 drinks.

All depends on the reason you are prescribed Antibiotics. If it is for an internal problem then stay off the booze. Best call NHS direct and they will tell you.
