butter is sold in pounds. so you package you bought, its 1 pound! & yes its 4 sticks. It doesnt take a chef to answer that.

2 cups, if your butter doesn't come in sticks -- some do, some don't. For most liquids (even solidified ones like butter) the 8-ounce cup rule still applies. So, 1 pound (a.k.a. 16 oz) is two cups.

All depends on how you buy your butter. Look at the container it came in. If it says it's 2 lbs, take half. If it's one, use the whole thing. Normally it's 4 sticks, but if you buy it in blocks it's usually one lb per block.
