Then wouldn't all the people in the world be in peace and harmony eventually? Won't morals evolve to the point of no violence or harm to fellow man? That is what you are claiming would happen/ is happening. That is irrational and not logical, look around you and look at history.

"If morals evolved..........?
Then wouldn't all the people in the world be in peace and harmony eventually? "

Nope. You don't understand evolution.

You should have put some effort into it before "calling out" people who do understand it.

Frankly, I don't care whether or not you respect me, since you've shown that you're not willing to make any effort to participate in discussions. If you wanted more than that, you should have thought about it before posting this thoughtless mistake.

No, it's not possible that morals could genetically evolve a way that all the people in the world would be in peace and harmony. Hopefully they might culturally "evolve" so and I think we are making some progress, at least I hope this century will be less violent than the last (but who knows, it could become even worse).

However, if you understand how evolution works it is no surprise how it could produce both the good and the bad in humans. You see evolution is all about the survival of the fittest. Morals do increase the evolutionary fitness of a population, that of the species and that of specific blood-related groups of this species (like clans or ethnicities). Our ancestors could only survive if they could cooperate, help each other and keep certain social rules. On the other hand it could enhance their evolutionary success if they fought or even killed their neighbor clan if for example there wasn't enough food for all. Indeed you see that humans do the worst acts of violence to people they perceive as strangers, it is happening in most wars and all genocides that another group of people is mentally excluded from some kind of "we" group and the common moral values are not applied on them anymore. Of course if the killing and fighting becomes very much it again decreases the evolutionary success of the species. So the result of evolution is that you have a species that is potentially capable of extreme violence, but on the other hand also has the ability to follow morals.
However I never condone violence (except for defence). We have to work on it to prevent these bad instincts from breaking out. The most important for this is to understand that all human beings belong to the "we" group that morals are applied on.

No. That's what you are claiming. The fact that you will put words into other people's mouths show how far religious morals go. Now, before you start making excuses, I will show you how you have just demonstrated that morality can evolve without "peace and harmony". You attacked another group. Evolution is about survival of the individual and the group. Why did you attack another group? Religion. If evolution were on the path to world peace (for which there is no evidence), religion would have derailed it.

~~~ Reflect,,,, "Morals" do not "evolve". It is mankind's Collective and Individual Conciousness that evolves to Transcend the Ego. As soon as we get all this Selfishness out of our "Systems" and function more on The Compassionate Level (heart chakra,,,Jesus/Buddha/Krishna foundational teachings),,,only then will we be ready for Higher Knowledge. This is glaringly evident in the Historical Record of Compassion & Ethics as applied to Cultural Developement,,,, esp in the USA where Personal Freedom from Tyranny, officially anyway, has only existed for over 225yrs where The Survival of The Fittest no longer applies as we have a Social Security System and a slew of Charitable Organizations to help the Weakest in our Culture. THIS is Progress and has followed it's "logical" course.
Perhaps morality will evolve to the point where we are peaceful. We're a pretty young species, and developed morality (I presume) is a relatively recent addition. Most other primates have a rudimentary system of morality, so we can infer that ours has developed as our higher brain function developed.
If you can't look into the future, you shouldn't call me irrational. You have no idea what will "eventually" happen, and neither do I.
I'm an atheist and who's to say that morals evolve?
I believe that morals are taught and imposed upon us by society and develop during our upbringing.
Anyway, even if one were to argue that morals evolve, then your presupposition that we would all end up in peace and harmony is flawed. We created morals in order to survive orignally, but why should the more 'moral' survive in this day? Survival of the fittest can no longer work in this way...
Slavery is abolished in America.... somewhere that "moral" evolved.... it sure didn't come out of the Bible. The Bible backs up owning slaves. You are expecting that if one thing evolves everything has to evolved at the same speed and suddenly it has to be perfect. It has never worked that way - look at history. Slavery... burning/hanging witches... people of all races and religions allowed the same freedoms... this stuff has evolved. Sorry it's not fast enough for you to be considered rational or logical.... maybe you need to slow down enough to actually look at it?
The hope is that all people will live in peace some day but I agree it's a thin hope. As far as the evolution of morals or maybe you mean the evolutionary basis for morality, competition between members of a social group is quite common among primates. Human aggression is much greater than other primates but undoubtedly has it's origins in the same drives as other primates.
i think of there's a considered necessary distinction. Prayer is a individual chatting with themselves or thinking internally, and then believing that an invisible being is listening to those prayers. Prayer is many times a telepathic communique between a believer and their deity. Meditation isn't an identical element in any respect. the sensation of calmness from meditation is purely the concepts going right into a comfortable state, the place it emits beta waves quite than alpha waves. fairly, for the time of meditation, you provide up thinking and purely choose the flow to a extra non violent state of information. Sorry to declare this, yet there is not any longer something supernatural or mystic approximately it. it fairly is purely a manner for a individual to regulate how their concepts applications for a time. in case you already know the concepts chemistry at the back of meditation, you're attentive to that is not any longer in an identical ballpark as prayer. you're comparing apples and oranges.
I'll have to call you out for ignorance.
Evolution never stops. So it is LOGICAL and RATIONAL to conclude that one day "morals" will evolve to the point where the world lives in peace.
That being said, evolution really has nothing to do with morality. You really should try some education on biology and evolution.
