Can i put it in the microwave to defrost, and then cook it?

Yes, but you have to be careful. Use the defrost setting and pay attention to your meat; if it feels warm let it rest for a few.
A better way is to let it set in a cold water bath over night. Better yet, brine the darn thing: put 2 qts water 1/4 cup salt & sugar and let it set over night. It juices the roast up and thaws it at the same time.

You should defrost the steak before putting it in the oven or on the stove to make otherwise the steak itself could take longer to cook than normal if still frozen.
