The process can be tricky. Usually if you buy the part from a Ford dealer they will program it for you. The parts or service department can look up the exact procedure for you. Each car is slightly different. We do it all the time with fleet customers loosing or breaking the fobs all the time. Some we can program on the spot. If you have a second fob they both have to be reprogrammed at the same time or your original one will not work.

On most Fords, all you have to do is round up all of your fobs, then get in the car and close the door. Turn the key from off to on 8 times ending in the on position. The doors should lock, then unlock. If so, within 20 seconds, push one button on each fob. The doors will lock or unlock depending on which button you push. Then turn the key off. They should all be reprogrammed for your car.
