You can try contacting the credit card company yourself, but as simply a authorized user, they most likely will not talk to you.
Be prepared to provide paperwork documenting that this is your soon to be ex's account. Your divorce lawyer should be handling this for you.
Unfortunately, even after you get taken off the account the history will still show on your credit bureau.
You may be able after all of this is over to challenge this with the credit bureaus and get the history removed from your bureau.
There seems to be some people out there that do not realize that if you are a authorized user, the history doe's show on your credit.

Contact the credit holder and show them your divorce decree. Also report any of this to the credit reporting agencies, Transunion, Experian and Equifax. If you are in a bitter divorce, I feel sorry for you but you should have a lawyer by now and he needs to know this too. If this is not a joint account and you are just an authorised user, you may have grounds for a lawsuit.

You can call the credit card company yourself and also make sure you make the same request in writing. If its not a joint account and you never signed the debt agreement, your credit should not be affected. If it IS affecting your credit you do indeed have a joint account and you have the right to close the account. That is the only way to guarantee your credit is safe.

An authorized user is not responsible for the debt. Are you sure he didnt sign your name as a co owner of the card? Call the credit card company and find out. If he signed your name thats identity theft.

Wow... thats a tough one. Usually because of this very thing one files for a legal seperation before the divorce. Because his debts and credit are yours until this happens or you get divorced.
You should be able to call the card issuers yourself and take your name off. Now if you want to be up and up your lawyer can request the records and use them in court. If you have kids this would be best.
But..... if you are on his cards you could call the companies and request new cards. Then call him up and say that you are going to go out and buy things. I bet he will get you off of them soon enough.

Well first of all ... you being an authorized user on his credit card...it should not show up on your credit report. He may have you social security number tied into it without your knowledge. I would double check that..and call the credit card company to find out why it's showing on YOUR credit report.

Try calling the card company directly. Also, write them a letter. If the company won't cancel the card, make sure that it's a provision in your divorce decree, and if the ex won't take you off at that point, seek enforcement from the court.
