How can I complete step 2 of the 12 steps in recovery?

Question

I am a recovering drug addict. I am attending NA meetings and trying to work my steps. I cannot get past step 2 yet because I cannot figure out what my definition of a higher power is. Any suggestions?

I should also add that I am not a religious person and don't know what if any god I believe in at the moment.

are you religious? then your higher power would be whatever god you choose.
