It is a Remington Rifle that Sears bought a number of years back and sold with a Sears stamp. It was originally a 30-06 and the converted to a 308 Norma Mag.

A rifles value hinges on several factors that can influence the price in both directions.
1- Quality and condition of the rifle.
2- depends on what rifle was modified as in make and model.
3- the quality of the modification.
4- the desirability of the caliber.
5- the availability and price of ammo.

I have not seen this rifle as to its condition, nor have I seen the Quality of the modifications.
Now with this in mind we work what we do know.
1- it was a Sears Store brand weapon.
2- Most Quality Gunsmiths when they modify a chamber and bolt face change the caliber designation on the barrel, this was not done there for it makes you wonder if this was a home project.
3- the 308 Norma Magnum caliber is all but obsolete, in light of the more popular 300 magnums.
4- ammo prices are over 4 times higher then the slightly more powerful 300 Winchester Magnum.
308 Norma Magnum ammo I find in Cabela’s is $81.99 a box of 20.
Where as 300 Winchester magnum ammo I find in Cabela’s is $18.99 a box of 20.
Now if you look at the fact that Norma recommends a 1 in 12 twist for the rifling and most
standard 30-06s is a 1 in 10 according to Speer reloading Manual # 9.

I would say you have your self what is known as a WHITE ELEPHANT of no real value.
It would probably be worth more as a 30-06.

But I would sell it quickly to the guy that said $2000.00 and giggle all the way to the bank.

That my opinion.

Depends on the accuracy of the gun. Unless you are a qualified gunsmith you probably just wasted time and money to make a good remington worthless. You need to list more info for anyone to make an evaluation

The rechambering doesn't add to the value. Sight unseen, you probably have a $300 rifle that you'd do better to keep and hunt with.
