What do you mean hold on? It is a religion. "Scientific" Creationism was the first political doctrine devised to slip the Bible into schools. It has been shot down, but its adherents have now placed Genesis ahead of truth or the teachings of Christ. ID is just a symptom of the disease.

Hell, it's failed the theological test as well. Most church leaders (including the Vatican) have officially denounced it, saying that it's stupid, that it's not science, and that it should not be taught in class rooms.

Even the pope says it's a return to times that were too dogmatic and absurd. And this is the ultra conservative "Panzer pope"! Or "God's Rottweiler" as the Italians call him!

The reason people still hold on is that the "christian right" exclusively present in America is still advocating this foolishness. There are scores of apologist sites to give people staggeringly distorted information, arguments stuffed with fallacies, and so on to purposefully mislead people into believing this garbage. Unfortunately (as anybody familiar with philosophy, argumentation theory, debate or logic can tell you) fallacies are almost always more persuasive than sound reasoning, logic, facts and reality.

EDIT:::

Of course christians always make the absurd leap that if there is a designer/creator then it must therefore be Yahweh/Jesus - even though there is nothing remotely to point to this. Considering all the thousands of gods believed in over time, and the possibility of there being a higher power nobody's aware of, the chance of the designer being Yahweh is less than 00.001%...

confident, prayer has failed each scientific attempt ever carried out on it. surely, whilst it involves placebo outcomes, people who knew that they have been being prayed for did *worse*. "Is prayer a manner for human beings to do no longer something and picture that they are assisting?" Yup. bypass forward and pray. that's the least you're able to do. actually. Addendum: L - "Prayer does not fail. In a double blind attempt at a well being facility, sufferers who have been prayed for have been given extra ideal in virtually 0.5 the time as people who weren't prayed for. look it up on google." No, they did no longer. Please cite your source. you're the two misinformed, or mendacity.

Science - Man's invention to explain the world around him.

Courts - Made up of men that have studied laws.

ID - Talks of something higher than mankind

I guess it's true that a majority rules. Mankind thinks they have all the answers now, when in reality they are making things worse for themeslves.

I don't know why people equate omniscience with intelligence. Knowledge alone does not make for intelligence.

In any case, intelligent design is nothing more than a gutless and witless hedging of creationism. Fundementalistm wrapped in a candy-coating to make it more palatable.

Because they don't apply any scientific or logic to their belief in God. They follow it on faith, in other words, blind belief disregarding common sense and reason. Most people claim to be Christians because they like to think that they can do whatever they want and still get to go to heaven.

So where do you find results of this "scientific test" and "judicial test". What you mean is, I don't believe it so it does not pass my understanding test.

i personally think ID is kind of dopey, but that doesn't prove anything about God one way or the other -- just His followers.
