A citation is another word for ticket. Citation/ticket is a notice to appear in court because you committed a minor crime. Examples: drinking in public, possession of paraphenalia, walking a dog without a leash.

Moving violation is a traffic infraction when the car is in motion. Non moving violations for example: illegal tint, illegal modifications, parking in a red, etc.
