I have known this guy for 3 years. We have always got on very well and he has paid me zillions of compliments about my smarts.He bigs me up eveytime I see him but he has always been the perfect gentleman. Recently it has stepped up a gear and we are lightly flirting. I found out that he has a girlfriend of more than a few years. He has never been sleazy in any way and treats me with total respect. He has made me feel really good about myself and been very understanding when I talked to him about some personal issues and drama. Like I said the perfect gentleman. I am certainly not young and naive but I feel this man would like a relationship with me. It seems to be heading that way because we seem so connected and the way he acts around me. Nothing physical has happened and it wouldn't because he has a girlfriend. However I do really like him and I am a person that dosen't see things in black and white, circumstances and situations are very complex and I know these things happen. Help!

Would like to add that this person has really put himself out for me and seems to only want the best for me. He has never asked for anything in return but keeps on helping me in any way I ask.

As the first answerer asked, no I don't want to be number 2. I am just trying to find out what he wants. I have no desire to get into a relationship with him if he dosen't get rid of the girlfriend

Find out whats going on in his relationship. But do not take the next step while he has a girlfriend period. If he has respect for you and you respect yourself most importantly do not do it. If there are problems in his relationship offer advice and be a friend but not for your own self fish reasons clear honest advice. If their relationship does end do not jump to the next step quickly give time to make sure they are really over the last thing you want is to sleep with him then they get back together. If the relationship is not ending then leave things the way they are with him, Remember what you do brings Karma wether its good or bad!

Maybe he just wanted to boost your confidence. If he likes you enough he would dump his current girlfriend if you showed more signs you like him if you guys connect so well. Or just ask him to the next sadie hawpkins dance.

If he is with someone , then leave him alone, what goes around comes around, they may be happy , and if you try to break them up, drama is going to happen , and you will be the cause of it, leave him , and find someone else, how would you like for somone to steal your man.
