My boyfriend is already 31 years old. We have been together for 3 years and plan on getting married, one of these days, lol. So, how much harder is it to have children at his age?

its not harder...the older the guy gets, the more likely you are to have girls rather than boys. that is what i heard... you guys should get your fetility level tested =]

Usually, more of a concern for most people is "Is it harder on a woman to have a child later in life?" No matter how wonderful, kind and givng a husband is, the woman always takes on more responsibility for everything; it is just natural, feedings, instinct, etc..My dad was 51 when I was born and we have a great, close relationship. But, whether man or woman, ..... age is less of a factor today then it was years ago. I know two women who just had babies at 38 and I'll probably have my second around that age. But, ..... truth is that babies, toddlers and children are A LOT of work, so, you have to ready for the responsibility and have the energy.

A man can have children well into his 70s. Of course it might be a tad harder then ha. Usually if a man can maintain an erection and ejaculate he can have children.

If you wish to have children though, make a note of your cycle, women are only fertile a few days out of the month. By knowing your cycle and when you're most fertile you can plan to have sex on those days(in theory you'll be hornier those days as well), and it increases your chances of having a child. If you time it right you can also increase your chances of a male or female child, because the sperm for male babies swims faster but burns off energy and dies faster, and sperm for female babies conserves more energy, so if you time it right you can have a bigger chance of a male or female child.

Also, if you're on the pill, you may want to go off of it for some time before getting pregnant, so your cycle can normalize again.

Already 31? 31 is young. He can have kids just as easy as a 23 year old can. All the Dads I know had kids in their 30's and some even in their 40's.

Men can concieve children late into life i'm talking 60-70yrs old. If he is potent to begin with. Some guys just have slow swimmers. It's the woman who can't wait too long before you have to start doing treatments.

It is not harder for men just harder for women. I think it will make them a better father to wait until they're ready. They'll be more prepared and hopefully financially ready. Hope this helps.

Men are fertile until death (as long as they are not impotent but there are rx's for that). However, recent studies show older dads (much older than 31) have a higher rate of kids with autism. I saw that on the news a couple of months ago. Google it, if you like.

No not for the man. For the woman the longer she waits the harder it is for her.

Usually its the female who has the problem and not the Man..
Men can and do impregnate woman at any age, while women lose there fertility depending on many factors.. Your the one who should be concerned about your age not his.

not harder. he will remain fertile longer than you will in all probability. My best friend and her husband had another baby when he was 33 i think. he's a healthy boy.
