Cool observation there!
Just as marriages these days are no longer sacred.
Likewise, symbolic rings no longer holds much significance for straying partners.
No certificates nor rings can fasten man's heart.
A faithful lover stays committed regardless of any material symbols.

Don't let those girl demean the meaning of the ring. Those girls had sleeping around on their minds long before they were given the ring. Every promise ring means something different( obviously not sleeping around though), but it is a very wonderful thing when someone can uphold this promise. Just like people aren't faithful when they are married. It's people who don't respect the person they love, or themselve that do those things.

A promise ring is a promise of a promise to finally get married. My now fiance purchased me one a couple of years in the past simply to close me up approximately getting married. He knew he desired to be with me, however the notion of marriage nonetheless scared him. He gave me the promise ring for my 24 birthday. It was once a lovely aquamarine, that is his birthstone (March) and that by some means carried extra which means for me. At that factor we would been in combination for approximately five years. We're each 28, just about 29 now. He officially proposed on August 18, 2008, once we have been in combination for precisely eight years, eight months and 26 days (two+6=eight) (on that date) and we had been each 28 years ancient. He gave me a certainly one of a style, exact ordered, middle-formed diamond ring that was once bigger nice than something Tiffany's confirmed me! We're now getting married 7-eleven-09.

It's just like a formality that have the promise of faithfulness, otherwise, it's basically a nothing whatsoever.
If love isn't keeping a couple faithful to each other, no wonder or promise ring will.
It's just a promise, and not all promises are fulfilled.

Really?
I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools for 13 years, so I heard it differently.
In abstainence ed they told us that a good Catholic girl will usually get a promise ring on her 16th birthday (when she is legal) from her parents or confirmation sponsor or someone, and that is a reminder to her that she needs to stay pure because all these people have taught her better than that, and that she is making a promise to god that she will stay pure until marriage.
Of course half the class was laughing because who the hell believes that?

The point of a promise ring is to make the jewelry companies richer. If a man's word to his woman and a woman's word to her man are not sufficent to secure their love no ring will ever make it so.

There's really no point. Everyone will do what they want even if they have the ring.
